Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 1:2-3
* 26-bed unit treating traumas, strokes, neuro elective procedures, and general medical ICU patients
* Float required between two campuses (12 miles apart) and possible step down/PCU areas
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Travelers may be required to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
* Charting in Cerner/PowerChart required
* Navy blue scrubs required; may wear a white, black, blue, or gray shirt under scrub top
* 2 years of critical care experience required (candidates with 1.5+ years of like experience may be considered)
* Neuro ICU experience required; Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience preferred
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required clinical skills include: accessing/managing ports, starting and maintaining IVs, central line/PICC line/arterial line management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, I&O monitoring, infection prevention, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Medication skills required: continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and IV insulin protocols
* Cardiac/Neuro skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKG, multisystem organ failure management, and CVA/acute stroke management
* Special equipment experience preferred: EVDs, CRRT, and arterial lines
* All schedule requests must be submitted at the time of application; no block scheduling permitted
* Orientation is 6 days: Monday through Friday (8-hour days) with a required return the following Monday for Day 6

This regional medical center serves as the area's only state-designated Level II Trauma Center and functions as a major referral center for southeastern New Jersey. Operating across two hospital campuses located approximately 12 miles apart, the facility provides a comprehensive multidisciplinary critical care program supporting medical, surgical, trauma, and specialty services through collaborative intensivist-led care. The ICU offers robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more.
