Opportunity:
RN - BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant)
Job Details:
* Bone marrow transplant experience required; experience administering cells is not required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend required
* On-call required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Daily census of 14 patients
* Perform cell and gene therapy administration
* Administer blood products and chemotherapy and conditioning treatments
* Provide supportive care and triage services
* Access and manage ports, central lines, PICC lines, and implanted lines
* Administer IV push chemotherapy and manage infusion pumps
* Monitor chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills
* Administer antibiotics, antiemetics, antifungals, antitumor, and antiviral medications
* Maintain neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
* Recognize and manage side effects, abnormal lab values, sepsis, and anaphylaxis
* Provide patient and family education and support
* Required certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC); OCN preferred
* Michigan license must be in-hand at time of submission (compact license not accepted)
* 2 manager or supervisor references required
* Orientation is 36 hours and completed onsite

This facility is a leading academic medical center offering comprehensive oncology and hematology services, including a dedicated bone marrow transplant unit. The unit is supported by an extensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services. The facility provides specialized care for patients with hematologic malignancies and utilizes advanced therapies including stem cell and CAR-T treatments.
