5N Med Surg RN

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* 13-week contract or longer with possibility of extension
* Blocked schedule available
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; travel experience not required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Oncology experience preferred but not required
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6; unit is a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow
* Patients served include adults and geriatric populations
* IV start skills required
* Chemotherapy administration experience and oncology skills strongly preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
* Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
* Attendance policy strictly enforced - facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract

Facility:

This facility operates a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow capabilities, providing specialized cancer care alongside general medical-surgical services. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains a strong commitment to quality patient care and reliable staffing.
