Job Details:

* 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with weekend coverage required
* 3 weekend shifts per schedule
* Must be flexible to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations, including floating to other facilities
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4 for cardiovascular telemetry care unit
* Self-scheduling unit
* 36 orientation hours required
* Travel experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* 2 years of CV TCU/PCU (cardiovascular telemetry/progressive care unit) experience required
* Minimum 2 years of cardiac step-down experience required (hard stop)
* Telemetry experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
* Transplant experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CCRN preferred
* California RN license in hand required
* BSN required
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), non-invasive airway management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care and management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Special equipment used includes: high flow oxygen, external pacemaker, chest tubes, and wound vac
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit capacity of 45 beds across 38 rooms

The facility supports an interdisciplinary care model with resources including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and more. The unit specializes in complex patient diagnoses including CAD, NSTEMI, CHF, heart and lung transplants, LVAD workups, and post-surgical cardiac care, with access to advanced procedures such as TAVR and continuous peritoneal dialysis.
