Opportunity:

Surgical Technician/Technologist

Job Details:

* Work 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* On-call responsibilities required
* BLS (AHA) certification required
* Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience preferred, or completion of an accredited surgical tech program
* Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred
* Assist in the surgical suite and endoscopy room to provide safe and skilled patient care
* Assist the OR Circulating RN in preparing the operating room for surgery, including opening sterile packages and selecting appropriate equipment
* Set up instruments and equipment required for each procedure
* Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and adhere to standards of safety and infection control
* Must possess knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles
* Must be able to anticipate the needs of surgeons and patients
* Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook required
* May be required to work in the Sterile Processing Department when needed
* Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and diplomacy
* Must be able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
* Provide guidance and instruction to fellow co-workers as needed
* Assist with orientation of new employees to the department
* Attend meetings, workshops, and in-services as assigned
