Open Position: Endoscopy Tech - GI Tech

Job Details:

* Day shift schedule, 5 x 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
* Rotating shift times between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
* On-call requirement of minimum 1 weekend per month, 2-3 days per week
* Minimum 3 years of GI Tech experience required
* Current BLS certification required
* Work in the gastroenterology (GI) lab under the direction of registered nurses
* Assist gastroenterologists with various GI procedures and related work
* Responsible for the care of adult and geriatric patients
* Demonstrate and practice competencies related to endoscopic procedures including proper disinfection, care, and handling of endoscopes
* Assist physicians with procedures, endoscopy room set-up and cleaning, specimen collection, and supervision of sterilization processes
* Maintain quality control of each sterilization and terminal cleaning process including biological monitoring
* Clean, test, process, and store endoscopes and other clinical equipment according to established policies and procedures
* Perform proper techniques when using ultrasonic washers, changing solutions, and quality testing
* Transport patients between departments
* Provide direct care to endoscopy patients while collaborating with registered nurses
* Inventory supplies and communicate inventory needs to inventory clerks
* Collect data for performance improvement
