Opportunity:
Surgical Technologist - OR
Job Details:
* Work 3x12-hour shifts per week
* Assist during surgical procedures by ensuring and maintaining the integrity of a sterile surgical field
* Provide instrumentation as needed to the surgical team
* Possess expertise in sterile and aseptic technique with knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures
* Maintain and check all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal and packaging integrity, sterile indicators, and expiration dates
* Ensure operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly to maximize patient safety
* Monitor sterile field for events that may contaminate, interfere, or alter the field and initiate corrective action as needed
* Work towards competency or demonstrate competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
* Participate in Time Out Process including Briefings and Debriefings
* Assist team with patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
* Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
* Maintain currency in new technologies, procedures, instrumentation, and equipment
* Must be able to care for patients across all age groups including neonatal through geriatric populations
* Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist required
* Colorado Surgical Technologist license required
* BLS certification by American Heart Association required
* Must have working knowledge of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking
