Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit (4IC) providing care for post-catheterization patients
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6 depending on acuity
* Care techs available on unit with approximately 1:15 ratio
* Titrate drips including all drips except pressors, paralytics, and TPA
* Manage sheaths and TR bands; TAVR experience preferred
* Ability to care for chest tubes as unit serves as overflow for adjacent unit
* Care for medical population requiring telemetry monitoring
* Read telemetry strips once per shift and as needed for changes in rhythm; centralized tele monitoring available
* Work with CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen equipment; respiratory therapy available in-house to assist with rate settings
* Self-scheduling with adjustments made to maintain a balanced schedule
* 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
* Holiday requirements: 2 summer and 3 winter holidays
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Floating to other floors may be required
* Scrub color: Galaxy Blue
* 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* BSN not required
* Acute care setting
