RN - Neuro Tele
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
* Holiday scheduling based on unit coverage needs
* 1:4 patient ratio on a 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; neuro experience highly preferred
* Level 1 Trauma experience required; Level 2 Trauma experience will be considered
* 18+ months of experience will be considered; first-time travelers welcome
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
* Must be able to interpret EKGs with central telemetry monitoring
* Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
* Heparin drip titration also required
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance; two attempts allowed
* Must complete Day 1 SIMs Lab including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; pass/fail format with strict sterile field maintenance required
* Charting system: Cerner with WOWs (Workstations on Wheels)
* Scrub color: Steel gray
* Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
* Men must be clean shaven for fit test
* Must have own personal vehicle
* 50-mile radius rule applies; no local rate offered
* First to float to MS/Tele units; may float to Westgate or AZ General Laveen campuses
* 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
* Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, tracheotomy patients, brain tumors, and patients with psychiatric issues
* Average length of stay is 4-5 days on a fast-paced, high-turnaround unit with bedside reporting
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering comprehensive neurological and telemetry services within a fast-paced hospital environment. The facility provides 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 centralized pharmacy services, and a SWAT RN team available for difficult intravenous access needs. The organization maintains high clinical standards and utilizes simulation-based competency evaluations to ensure all nursing staff are proficient in critical bedside skills.
