LTC LVN/LPN

Job Details:

* 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedule (traveler's choice)
* Shifts will be either Days or Nights based on facility needs at time of start date - caregivers are not asked to rotate between night and day shifts except in occasional urgent staffing situations
* Assignment duration of 13 or 26 weeks (traveler's choice)
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period - traveler may be called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2-week period
* Patient ratio of 1:20 for days, nights, and weekends
* Previous travel experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* LTC experience required
* LTAC experience preferred
* Alaska LPN/LVN license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certification: BLS
* No on-call required
* May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
* Block schedule not available
* Must reside at least 50 miles from facility - locals not accepted
* No more than 1 week of RTO for 13-week contracts; no more than 2 weeks of RTO for 26-week contracts
* Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
* All RTO must be submitted at time of candidate submittal
* Charting system: ECS - charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any
* Parking is free
* Facility will provide shuttle to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the assignment; local shuttle in Seward available for local transportation needs
* Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient diagnoses include dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, plegics, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, and other LTC-appropriate diagnoses
* Required skills include: accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube (G-tube) feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration PRN, phlebotomy lab draws, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only), respiratory treatments (nebulizers), and wound care
* Special equipment includes: lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, Sara Steady, pacemaker transmitter, and EKGs
* All caregivers must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during on-site orientation (one-time $10 fee applies)

The facility offers comprehensive support services including social services and is equipped to manage complex patient needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, traumatic brain injuries, and various cognitive and physical impairments.
