Job Details:
* Perinatal Float Pool position requiring cross-training and rotation among all three perinatal units: JMC L&D, JMC Postpartum, and Hillcrest LDRP
* Floating each shift is mandatory, including between campuses
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas - this is a hard requirement
* Must be available to work one additional overtime shift per 2 weeks (7 shifts total) based on unit needs
* Manager will provide a minimum of 2 weeks notice for schedule changes
* No requested time off (RTO) in the first 3 weeks
* Weekend coverage required: 4 shifts every 4 weeks or every other weekend based on unit needs
* May be placed on call
* Self-scheduling
* 48 orientation hours
* Travel experience required
* Active California state license required upon submission
* 2 manager references required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced NRP (hard stop), AWHONN Advanced (preferred), AWHONN Intermediate
* BSN preferred
* Care for patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Treat high-risk OB patients including those with pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, high-risk cardiac conditions, and high-risk postpartum needs
* Manage high-risk newborns including late preterm infants, drug-exposed newborns, and newborns with hypoglycemia
* Perform and support procedures including C-sections (circulate and recover), general anesthesia recovery, Bakri Balloon, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and external/internal fetal monitoring
* Support baby-friendly protocols and lactation support
* Facility includes 8 private L&D rooms, 3 OR suites, 3 recovery rooms, 3 Birth Center rooms, 6 antepartum beds, 6 triage rooms, 32 private postpartum rooms, a newborn nursery, and the Hillcrest LDRP with 9 LDRP rooms, 5 triage rooms, 2 ORs, and 3 recovery rooms
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
