Opportunity:
RN - ICU (Float Pool)
Job Details:
* 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, scheduled between 7:00 AM?7:30 PM or 7:00 PM?7:30 AM
* 36-hour work week with three 12-hour shifts based on operational need
* One schedule cycle (4 weeks) may be either day or night shift, with potential to switch in another cycle depending on need
* Float pool position not unit based; must have ability to float to all TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU across all UCSF campuses
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience required
* CVICU, CTICU, or CCU experience required
* ECMO experience within the last 6 months to 1 year required, including caring for ECMO patients as primary bedside RN responsibility without dedicated bedside perfusion support
* Must have confirmed experience with the following devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters
* Ability to independently manage complex critical care patients required
* Strong interpersonal communication skills required
* Travel nursing experience within the past 5 years (1 year or less) required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* BSN required
* California RN license required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Strongly preferred experience: VA ECMO, VV ECMO, V-PA ECMO, CRRT (NxStage), IABP (Teleflex), Impella, Ventricular Assist Devices, Heart Failure/Cardiogenic Shock, Pulmonary Artery Catheters, Prostacyclin Therapies, Cardiothoracic Surgery Recovery, Heart and Lung Transplant Recovery
* Highly desirable: Academic Medical Center experience and simultaneous management of multiple support devices (e.g., ECMO + CRRT, ECMO + Impella, ECMO + IABP)
* Adults and geriatrics patient population
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
Facility:
This is a large academic medical center with over 600 beds, operating across multiple campuses and offering a wide range of critical care services. The facility supports a highly complex patient population including transplant, cardiovascular, and multi-organ support cases. Travel RNs may be assigned to various sites and units, including acute care, telemetry, TCU, ED, and PACU settings, supported by a robust interdisciplinary care team.
