Opportunity:

Labor and Delivery RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including days and nights
* Weekend coverage required - every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit need
* Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
* Float required to Mother Baby unit
* No on-call required
* Average daily census of 6-8 deliveries per day; unit has 13 rooms and 15 beds
* Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision - hard stop requirement
* Obstetrical triage experience required - hard stop requirement
* AWHONN Advanced certification required - hard stop, must have a passing designation
* Minimum 1.5 years of experience required; 2 years preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP
* Scrubs provided for L&D
* Free parking available
* Facility guaranteed hours: facility may call off once per two-week pay period
* 36 orientation hours
* Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Patient diagnoses include labor, induction, preeclampsia, TOLAC, VBAC, multiples, preterm labor, antepartum, and high-risk antepartum
* Key skills required include sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, external and internal fetal monitoring, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, C-section circulating and scrubbing, postpartum hemorrhage management, and newborn assessment
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
* Special equipment includes 2 operating rooms

The unit supports a wide range of obstetrical cases including high-risk antepartum patients and complex deliveries, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team.
