Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with varied start times between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* One day of call per month, potentially 2 days per month depending on call team rotation; call schedule provided with 3 days to sign up before assignment
* Self-scheduling by seniority, schedule made out at least 2 weeks in advance
* First to float policy in effect
* Patient ratio of 1 to 4
* 28-bed unit with 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
* High volume and high acuity emergency department seeing approximately 155 patients per day
* Common diagnoses and patient types include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients
* Level II trauma experience or above strongly preferred
* EMT support on each shift, including a mid-shift EMT for tech duties
* Charge nurses available and do not take patient assignments
* Hospitalist and intensivist available in-house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and telemetry support available 24/7
* EMR system: Cerner with GE telemetry
* Ventilator experience required
* No IV team on site
* No floating required
* Floor-specific orientation of 2 to 3 shifts
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing required
* Travel experience preferred
* Level II trauma experience or above preferred
* Must have experience in a high volume, high acuity emergency department
* Candidates must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one (pass/fail)
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a 28-bed emergency department equipped with fast track beds, trauma bays, and hallway capacity to accommodate high patient volumes. The department sees approximately 155 patients per day, handling a wide range of complex cases including trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric patients. The facility supports a collaborative team environment with 24/7 hospitalist, intensivist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services available to staff.
