Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available with self-scheduling
* 6 weekend shifts required per six-week period
* No on-call required
* No floating between units
* Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
* Treat patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, and lacerations
* Perform and support special procedures including comprehensive stroke care, Level 2 trauma, and STEMI protocols
* Proficiency with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, central line care and management, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, and triage required
* Experience with CVA, isolation precautions/PPE, and stroke-certified facility protocols required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* LTAC experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience required (hard stop)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN) is solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire (scrub tops may have colored piping; print tops are not acceptable)
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lot designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center equipped to handle a wide range of emergency and critical care needs. The facility operates a 42-room, 46-bed emergency department with a daily census of approximately 136 patients. Interdisciplinary support services include respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The facility is both a comprehensive stroke center and a STEMI-capable facility, offering a dynamic and high-acuity environment for emergency nursing professionals.
