Job Details:
* Night shift position working 12-hour shifts
* Weekends required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week contract period
* Block scheduling is approved but not required
* Self-scheduling available
* No on-call responsibilities
* No floating between units
* Patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required (hard stop)
* Epic charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* LTAC experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVA management, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, stroke certification, and triage
* Treat patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, and lacerations
* Facility is a comprehensive stroke, Level II trauma, and STEMI center
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire (print tops are not acceptable)
* Free parking available in designated employee/visitor surface parking lots
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, submitted during the compliance process and prior to start
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility features 379 staffed beds and operates as a Level II Trauma Center, providing comprehensive emergency services to patients across a wide range of conditions and acuity levels. The facility is recognized as a comprehensive stroke center and STEMI facility, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. With 42 rooms and 46 beds in the emergency department, the facility maintains a daily census of approximately 136 patients, reflecting a high-volume, fast-paced care environment.
