Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
* 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with shift huddle starting at 7:00 and bedside report upon arrival to floor
* Day shift position with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday considered weekend days)
* Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
* Self-scheduling with scheduler review to balance unit needs
* Level II NICU experience required; Level III NICU experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, within the past 6 months
* Pass/fail Sim Lab assessment for foley catheter insertion required on Day 1 of orientation
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP; STABLE certification preferred
* Patient ratios: NICU 2:1 and Special Care Nursery 3:1
* Care for neonates 28 weeks and above with conditions including hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, IGUR, Chorioamnionitis, TTN, sepsis, and more
* Manage equipment including GE Monitors, Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators
* Work with CPAP, RAM and Vapotherm nasal cannulas, PICC lines, UAC, UVC, chest tubes, and passive cooling
* SCN patients include lower-level NICU diagnoses, CPAP, blood transfusions, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
* Chart using Cerner electronic health records system
* Scrub color: Navy
* 2-shift orientation with a preceptor provided
* Travelers will not be floated out of the NICU
* NNPs available 24/7 with Neonatologist in house during the day
* Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and tube system available 24/7

This acute care facility is a Level I Trauma Center offering comprehensive neonatal care across two distinct units: a 12-bed private room NICU and an 18-bed Special Care Nursery operating in a POD-based layout. The facility provides robust 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy and pharmacy, with a dedicated NNP team and on-site Neonatologist during daytime hours. The organization maintains a collaborative care environment with structured scheduling practices and a strong focus on patient-centered neonatal care.
