Simplifi Clinical Interviewing - Will be Mainly ED-HOLD FLOATING

Job Details:

* Primarily support ED Holding unit with mixed diagnoses
* Float across multiple units including MSICU, PCU, CCU, Med-Surg, Surgical, Rehab, and Flex units within scope of practice
* Patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:2, PCU/CCU 1:4, Medical/Surgical 1:5, Rehab 1:8 team model
* ED Holding ratios: ICU patients 1:2, PCU 1:4, MS 1:5
* Must be flexible and resourceful in a fast-paced environment
* ACLS Transport RN responsibilities include transporting patients throughout entire hospital including inpatient units, ED, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, PACU, and Cath Lab
* Night shift ACLS RN: After 2300, assist ED Holds Area with breaks, medication administration, and additional support when not transporting patients
* Must call staffing office 30-45 minutes prior to each shift to receive assignment
* Must be on time to the correct unit by 0700 or 1900; cannot clock in before 0653/1853
* Schedule provided 3 weeks at a time, received approximately 10 days prior to schedule start
* No holiday requests, self-scheduling, or on-call responsibilities
* Time off requests up to 5 days may be approved; additional days require manager approval
* May be required to add time to end of assignment if requesting time off
* Weekend availability required; varies depending on unit needs
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required for ICU assignments
* Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required for PCU/PCU ER Hold assignments
* Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required for Med-Surg assignments
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications by unit: ICU and PCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med-Surg: BLS, NIHSS
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required
* ICU skills required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy, general drains, trachs
* PCU skills required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, IV medication titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin, and sometimes Cardene)
* Med-Surg skills required: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
* Strong communication and patient teaching/education skills required for all clinicians
* EMR system: EPIC
* IV Pump: Alaris
* Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* Partial shift floating may be required

The facility provides comprehensive 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage, and intensivist coverage. The organization maintains a robust float pool model and supports a wide range of patient acuity levels from medical-surgical to critical care.
