Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located on the 3S floor
* Patient ratio of 1:3
* Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and a unit secretary caring for 24 patients
* Night shift includes 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs caring for 24 patients
* 4 weekend shifts required within a 4-week schedule
* Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom, iMobile with Apple, and telemetry
* EMR system: Meditech
* Care for patients post-CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, and immediate post-VATS (chest tubes)
* Support post-vascular surgeries and pre/post cath lab and EP procedures including pacemaker/AICD, heart caths, PCIs, and TAVR
* Assist with bedside procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion
* Must have knowledge of cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem
* 6 months of PCU experience preferred
* Must demonstrate strong accountability and communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary team
* Float to Med-Surg/Tele and Ortho units as needed
* Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS

The unit supports a wide range of complex cardiac and vascular patients with a strong multidisciplinary team approach. The facility is equipped with modern technology and maintains consistent staffing ratios to ensure high-quality patient care across both day and night shifts.
