RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Rotating weekends with every other weekend required
* Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday
* No on-call responsibilities
* Schedule made in 3-week increments with RTO approval through manager
* Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor and 1:2 for non-active laboring patients
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (AWHONN or Relia's module)
* Strong Labor and Delivery skills required including cervical exams, antepartum and labor, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin administration
* Post-partum experience required including couplet care, mom and baby care beyond transition period, and basic breastfeeding support
* Experience with HUGS Security system and Pyxis required
* EMR experience with EPIC Stork and GE Centricity required
* IV pump experience with Alaris required
* Pyxis medication dispensing experience required
* Floating limited to areas of competency only; will not float to START unit; traditional travelers will float between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby
* Scrubs provided by facility

Facility:

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds, offering a comprehensive perinatal program serving as a Level II Perinatal Center for pregnancies at 32 weeks and above. The unit includes 9 LDR rooms, 2 OB ORs, 2 OB PACUs, an 11-bed Level II NICU, a 4-bed Pediatrics unit, a 20-bed Mother/Baby unit, an 18-bed START unit for perinatal addiction treatment, and 3 OB ED beds. The facility delivers 175-200 babies per month and offers 24/7 support from hospitalists, laborists, OB groups, midwives, respiratory therapy, and family practice groups.
