RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required
* Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius
* Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required with at least 1 year of recent experience
* Postpartum experience required
* Ability to circulate C-sections required
* Previous travel assignment experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Required certifications: California RN license (in hand), BSN, AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
* Epic charting system experience required
* Key clinical skills include: Labor & Delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, neonatal resuscitation, fetal heart monitoring (internal and external), magnesium sulfate therapy, postpartum hemorrhage management, epidural anesthesia support, high-risk antepartum care, triage of obstetrical patients, and newborn assessment
* Patient population includes straightforward to high-acuity patients with co-morbidities, homebirth transfers, patients without prenatal care, and patients with substance use histories
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of offer; no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract and time off cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submission
* Requests for time off greater than 7 consecutive days require manager approval

This facility is a major academic medical center and teaching hospital located in the Mission Bay area, offering a wide range of specialized services including high-acuity labor and delivery care. The facility serves a diverse patient population including complex, high-risk pregnancies and operates under AWHONN staffing guidelines to ensure quality patient care. As part of a larger university health system, staff may be reassigned across multiple affiliated facilities based on patient care needs.
