Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required
* 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers will be considered
* Care for a diverse patient population including respiratory patients (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP), trachs, chemo, RSV, and asthma patients
* Treat medical patients including MIS-C, new onset diabetes with insulin drips, chronically ill, and oncology patients
* Manage trauma patients (falls, MVAs, etc.) and cardiovascular/congenital heart defect patients from surgery through discharge
* Handle surgical cases including appendectomies, g-tubes, ENT, fresh trachs, bowel obstructions, broken bones, VP shunts, cardiac, and neuro cases
* Stat categories 1, 2, 3, and occasionally 4
* No solid organ transplant, major burns, or stem cell transplant cases
* ECMO available on unit with ECMO specialist managing the machine
* CRRT experience with Prismax preferred; travelers with prior CRRT experience may take CRRT patients after training
* Float to MedSurg, ED, or NICU as Helping Hands or Constant Observer as needed
* Required skills: aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, Foley insertion and management, and discharge skills
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
* CICU experience preferred
* Epic EMR preferred
* Scrub color: any color permitted; no hooded shirts or long sleeves (sleeves must be able to be pulled above the elbow)

Facility:

This facility is a 152-bed Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU featuring 16 PICU beds that are interchangeable with overflow from the medical-surgical unit. The unit serves a mixed patient population including neurological, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical cases. The facility is equipped with advanced technology including ECMO and CRRT capabilities using the Prismax system, ensuring comprehensive care for complex pediatric patients.
