Cath Lab Tech

Job Details:

* 13-week contract assignment
* 1 year of experience required
* Will accept first-time travelers
* Required certifications: ACLS, ARRT (R), BLS
* ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required
* New Jersey license required, can be obtained during compliance
* Must be experienced in both Diagnostic Cardiac Cath lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath lab
* Weekday and weekend on-call required during 4-week schedule period (discussed in interview)
* Patient ratio: 1 patient per day
* Daily census of 12 patients across 2 rooms
* Treats adult patient population
* Procedural responsibilities include: accurate monitoring, equipment set up, prep access site, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
* Additional skills include: angioplasty, aortography, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, interpretation of dysrhythmias, left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), and temporary pacemaker
* 10 orientation hours required
* One pre-approved time off request accepted

This facility operates a specialized cardiac catheterization lab equipped to handle both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The unit supports a daily census of 12 patients across 2 procedure rooms and provides comprehensive cardiac care for adult patients. The organization maintains high standards for clinical competency and requires unit-based testing during the compliance process.
