Opportunity:

Latrobe ER - Rotating Shifts

Job Details:

* Rotating shift schedule with weekend coverage required
* Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience required
* Patient ratios of 4-5 patients per nurse
* Charting experience required; Cerner experience preferred
* Must be available to work every other holiday
* Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
* 30-room, 28-bed emergency department averaging 80 visits per day
* Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Stroke certified facility; also serves as a chest pain referral hospital and adolescent psychiatric facility
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Active PA or Compact license required
* Required certifications (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
* Key clinical skills required include triage, IV insertion and maintenance, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG/ECG, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, chest tube management, management of psychiatric and suicidal patients, splint application, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction

Facility:

This emergency department is a stroke-certified facility and serves as a chest pain referral hospital and adolescent psychiatric facility. The unit features 30 rooms and 28 beds, seeing approximately 80 patients per day across all age groups and diagnoses. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available on-site, including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, radiology, and social services, ensuring a well-rounded and collaborative care environment.
