Opportunity:
TRAVEL - RN - CVIPCU
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
* Pediatric Cardiac ICU setting with 10 beds
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for critical care (estimated, never guaranteed)
* Work alongside a team of 6 RNs partnering with the PICU to staff
* Night shift includes 1 Charge RN with RN staffing based on volume
* Utilize Phillips monitors, Med Fusion, and Baxter pumps
* Document using Meditech EMR
* Perform post-op care including inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy/open chest patients
* Perform moderate sedation procedures
* Peritoneal dialysis and CRRT skills preferred
* ECMO bedside experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required per Director
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
* Must be flexible, organized, and a strong communicator
* Must be comfortable resourcing and teaching

This facility is home to a Pediatric Cardiac ICU that serves as the ECMO Center of the hospital, supporting medical neonates and complex cardiac patients. The unit utilizes advanced equipment including the Centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun, and is staffed by an experienced RN team averaging 10 years of nursing experience with high engagement and culture of safety scores. The physician team consists of board-certified pediatric and congenital heart intensivists committed to partnering with nurses to deliver the highest level of compassionate critical care. The facility emphasizes evidence-based practice, prevention, and quality metrics, fostering a collaborative environment where interdisciplinary teams work together to support patients and families through their congenital heart journey.
