Opportunity:

RN - L&D

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week
* 36 hours guaranteed per week
* 8-week assignment
* Will work 3-4 weekend shifts on a 28-day schedule
* Orientation held on Mondays only
* Self-scheduling available with schedule balanced by leadership based on experience and skill set
* Work in an 8 LDR, 2 Triage, 2 OR, and 2 PACU bed department serving high-risk patients including high diabetic population
* Follow AWHONN staffing standards: 1:1 ratio for patients 6cm or greater dilated, magnesium or insulin drip patients; 1:2 ratio for all others
* Follow patients through entire care during scheduled C-sections until sign off
* External versions and second trimester cerclages performed on day shift only
* Charting systems: Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM for Surgical) and OBIX for fetal surveillance
* WOWs provided to each RN for charting
* Medication administration via Pyxis; IV Pumps: Solaris
* Scrubs provided for travelers working in L&D
* Minimum 2 years of experience in L&D setting required
* Active California RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS issued through American Heart Association, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent

This 172-bed Level II Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital serves as the only Trauma Center in Monterey County and many surrounding communities. The facility has been recognized as the Best Hospital in Salinas Valley by the Salinas Valley Reader's Choice Awards in 2022. The Women's Services department is well-equipped with dedicated LDR rooms, triage, operating rooms, and PACU beds, with a strong focus on high-risk obstetric care.
