Opportunity:

MFM Sonographer

Job Details:

* Perform a variety of high-risk obstetric ultrasound studies according to established protocols
* Assist MFM physicians with invasive obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
* Import images and clinical data into Viewpoint and PACS systems, ensuring accurate patient record documentation
* Evaluate fetal anatomy, growth, and well-being; identify abnormal findings and obtain additional images as directed
* Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
* Maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, stocking of supplies, and readiness for procedures
* Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) of ultrasound transducers per infection control standards
* Collaborate with MFM physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental process improvements
* Mentor and support new sonographers and students in the MFM setting
* Position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
* On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs
* Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
* Traveler must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
* Required: Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program through CAAHEP
* Required: ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB/GYN) certification
* Required: ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE) registry certification
* Preferred: Two or more years of related work experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or a high-risk obstetrics setting
