Labor and Delivery RN

Job Details:

* 36 guaranteed hours per week with a 1:2 patient ratio
* Weekend requirement of 2 weekends every 6 weeks; night shift weekends may include Fridays
* No on-call requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience accepted; 2 years preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), EFM
* Experience required with vaginal exams, newborn/baby care, and birth volume ranging from fewer than 100 to more than 300 births
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: No specific color required; camouflage and character patterns are not permitted
* Strict dress code in effect: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than earrings, no facial or nose rings, and earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoop earrings
* Free parking available on-site
* Client may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
* Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of assignment
* Block scheduling is not available
* Floating within scope is not required

Facility:

This is an acute care hospital recognized as a Magnet facility and a teaching institution, operating as a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital maintains 412 total staffed beds and supports a multidisciplinary care environment with services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The Labor and Delivery unit consists of 33 rooms and beds with a daily census of approximately 37 patients, focusing on labor and delivery and high-risk obstetrics care.
