Cath Lab Tech

Job Details:

* Work in a Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology setting
* Serve as room circulator; scrub and maintain sterile field
* Hospital scrubs provided
* Charting system: Epic required
* On-call requirement: 14-15 shifts per month; every other week Sunday through Saturday
* No weekend shifts required - on-call only on weekends
* Holiday requirement: On-call only; 1 winter or 1 summer holiday required as needed; must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Must float within skillset without exception
* 2 years of experience required; may consider 1 year based on experience
* First-time travelers and local candidates accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ARRT(R) or RCIS
* ARRT(R) with NJ license or RCIS accepted; NJ license must be in place prior to start
* Clinical responsibilities include: equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, supply stocking, and sterile technique
* Vascular procedures: angioplasty and endovascular interventions
* Cath lab procedures: ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, interpretation of dysrhythmias, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, permanent/temporary pacemaker insertion, and PA line insertion

This 241-bed acute care community hospital serves Union and Middlesex counties and is part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system. The cardiac and vascular program features a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab offering both diagnostic and interventional services, including cardiac catheterization, emergency angioplasty and PCI, pacemaker insertion, and vascular and endovascular interventions.
