Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 36 or 48 hours per week available
* Experience on a Med/Surg floor preferred
* Minimum two years of recent experience in field required
* Current RN license in state of practice required
* Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
* Provide appropriate nursing interventions in stable and emergent patient situations
* Competency required in medication administration, intravenous therapy including blood products, care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains, and safe use of medical equipment such as glucose meters, IV pumps, and PCA machines
* Provide age-related physiological, emotional, and cognitive care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations, including those with hearing, learning, and physical disabilities
* Competency required in epidural management, care of acute post-operative wounds, sterile technique, and assessment of vascular patency
* Initiate and maintain multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
* Educate patients and families regarding care using teaching methods appropriate to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness
* Delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel based on individual competency and scope of practice
