RN - Emergency Department
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts with available start times at 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, or 7:00 PM depending on assignment
* Likely to work a week at a time on a consistent shift, though this is subject to change
* Weekend scheduling will vary based on unit needs
* Schedule provided 3 weeks at a time, received approximately 10 days prior to schedule start
* No on-call requirements
* Holiday expectations include 2 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* No floating to other units
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
* First-time travelers are welcome
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
* Recent Epic experience required
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Skills required include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, procedural sedation, blood administration, and basic ED knowledge of drips and medication administration
* TNK administration experience preferred
* Proficiency with Alaris and Pyxis required
* Care for a high-acuity patient population including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, and geriatric patients
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with ability to flex based on acuity and staffing
* Support available on unit includes ER tech, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, respiratory therapy 24/7, ED educator, security 24/7, house supervisor 24/7, social work services 24/7, and pharmacy 24/7
* Scrub color: Any professional scrub colors accepted
* Piercings limited to modest studs only; tattoos must not be offensive
* Free parking available in designated areas
Facility:
This Level III Trauma Center operates 375 licensed beds with a dedicated 46-bed emergency department that includes 5 safe psychiatric rooms and a Fast Track area. The facility averages 200 patients per day and treats a wide range of high-acuity conditions with robust around-the-clock support services including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, social work, and dedicated security. The facility is known for being traveler-friendly with a fast-paced, team-oriented culture where many travelers choose to extend their assignments.
