RN - CV Tele

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
* First to float to similar or lower acuity units
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Must have a minimum of 2 full years of experience to be considered
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer (maximum of 2 attempts)
* Must pass a Pass/Fail exam on day 1 of orientation with an emphasis on sterile field techniques
* Unit: CV Tele D2 & C4 - 32 bed unit
* Patient ratio: 1:3-4
* Must be able to interpret EKGs using centralized telemetry monitoring
* Administer and titrate medications including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine (titrating down only)
* Common patient diagnoses include post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, and general telemetry
* No pediatric patients - patients must be 15 years of age or older
* Charge nurse available with no patient assignment and a Clinical Supervisor in a management role
* PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per every 16 patients
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* Hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night
* 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
