Job Details:
* Position will float between units including Mother/Baby or functionally elsewhere in the facility
* Some weekend shifts required
* No on-call required
* Labor patient ratio 1:2; Antepartum patient ratio 1:3
* 48-hour shifts are approved
* 12 orientation hours provided
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of L&D experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Parking is free of charge
* High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required, including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
* Required skills include administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, APGAR scores, assisting with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum hemorrhage management, and VBAC management
* Additional required skills include external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, insulin drips, IV management, foley catheter insertion, spiral electrode placement, and triage of obstetrical patients
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during the compliance process and prior to start
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 total staffed beds and teaching hospital status, the facility delivers approximately 3,600 deliveries per year across 25 rooms and 27 beds. The Labor and Delivery unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. Specialized procedures performed include insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, PUBS, cerclages, versions, and care for high-risk MFM and cardiac patients.
