Job Details:
* Float between units including Mother/Baby or other functional areas within the facility as needed
* No on-call required
* Some weekend shifts required
* Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of L&D experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
* Must be comfortable with high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
* Key skills include: administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, assist with high-risk delivery, cesarean section, epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum hemorrhage management, and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
* Additional skills include: insulin drips, HELLP syndrome management, hemorrhage/shock response, placenta previa/abruptio, spiral electrode placement, IUPC placement and calibration, VBAC management, and triage of obstetrical patients
* Special procedures include: insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, PUBS, cerclages, versions, high-risk MFM patients, and cardiac patients
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
Facility:
This facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering a comprehensive range of services. The Labor and Delivery unit features 25 rooms and 27 beds, performing approximately 3,600 deliveries per year. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support services and is equipped to handle a wide range of high-risk obstetrical cases.
