RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Float pool position - will not be assigned a home unit and will float between approximately 5 units across all Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as needed
* Patient ratio of 1:6
* 8 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period, any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
* Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments required as needed per unit
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
* Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
* 1 to 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Charting system: Epic
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
* Missouri or Compact nursing license required
* Work settings include MS/Tele, Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
* Serve a wide variety of patients including those with heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolisms, bacteremia, cellulitis, hematuria, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal
* Required skills include cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, use of rapid response teams, post MI and pre/post cardiac cath care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care and management, phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips without titration, PCA management, surgical drain care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
