Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Block schedules not required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units to meet unit needs
* 36 orientation hours required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
* Experience with patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Parking is provided at no fee
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and houses a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The unit specializes in neuroscience including neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care with a daily census of 48 patients across 64 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries.
