Opportunity:

Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with the NIH scale
* Must be proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Parking is provided at no cost
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* 2 references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years, to be submitted during compliance process and prior to start

Facility:

This facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital and serves as both a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it supports a wide range of specialties and patient care needs. The neuroscience unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation. The unit supports 64 beds and a daily census of 48, with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
