Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratios of 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Up to 6 weekend shifts per contract if able
* Vascular access experience at a pediatric hospital required
* Ultrasound-guided PIV placement experience required
* Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius required
* Inpatient experience preferred
* Emergency department experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* California RN license required
* BSN required
* AHA BLS certification required
* Performs PICC line placements and ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access
* Utilizes Sonosite ultrasound equipment
* Cares for patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Patient diagnoses include respiratory, sepsis, cardiac, surgery, and trauma
* Skilled in central line blood draws, dressing changes, catheter management, and vascular access troubleshooting
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal

This is a large teaching hospital facility with 144 beds and a daily census of 107?115 patients. The facility specializes in pediatric care, serving neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents, and offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services and unit secretaries. The unit focuses on specialized vascular access procedures including PICC line placement and ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertion.
