Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* 36 orientation hours required
* Scheduling type is variable
* Up to two pre-approved time off days available
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Care for patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit serves a daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds
* Provide care for neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patients
* Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients
* Work in a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Work within a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* Work within a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, craniotomy care, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown care, pre/post neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury care
* Charting system: Epic (required, hardstop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it maintains high standards of medical education and patient care. The facility features comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services.
