Opportunity:
Case Manager RN
Job Details:
* 5x8 day shift schedule with shift times varying between 7:00 AM?3:30 PM, 7:30 AM?4:00 PM, 8:00 AM?4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM?5:00 PM
* Monday through Friday business hours required with weekends required to meet department needs
* Every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule required
* Guaranteed 72 hours per 2-week period; traveler may be called off for 1 eight-hour shift per 2 weeks
* No on-call required
* Float within case manager services to cover gaps as needed
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Acute care hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not apply
* Epic EMR experience required
* Must be comfortable with discharge planning and care coordination across patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Skills include care coordination, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, pre-certification reviews, prior authorizations, needs assessment/ordering DME, ICD-10 coding, and utilization of InterQual and Milliman guidelines
* Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
* Microsoft Office/Teams experience preferred
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* Charting system: Epic
* Required certifications: BLS (preferred), ACM-RN (preferred), Alaska RN License (required)
* Only 1 time-off request of 5 days or less per 13-week assignment
* Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
* Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; no locals accepted
* Block scheduling not available

This facility is a 407-bed acute care hospital recognized as a Magnet facility, Level II Trauma Center, and a U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital in Alaska. The facility offers a high daily census of approximately 324 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, social services, and more.
