Job Details:

* 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, hours may differ based on unit needs
* No nights, floating, or on-call shifts
* Every other weekend required
* 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratio of 10-12 patients during the week and 14 on weekends
* 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification
* OCN certification preferred
* Epic EMR experience required; Beacon experience preferred
* Adult outpatient oncology infusion center providing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood product administration, IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, iron infusions, injections, and supportive oncology care
* Experience required with central line care including PICC lines and implanted ports, accessing and de-accessing ports, lab draws, patient education, symptom assessment, and management of infusion reactions
* Care provided for scheduled infusion visits, same-day add-ons, and urgent symptom management
* Multidisciplinary collaboration with oncology providers, pharmacy, and nurse navigators
* Chemotherapy verification and adherence to oncology safety protocols required
* Special equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Infusystem chemotherapy pumps, implanted ports and Port-a-Cath access devices, PICC lines, central venous catheters, chemo spill kits, PPE for hazardous drugs, and ultrasound IV
* Michigan nursing license must be active by start date; compact license not accepted in Michigan

Facility:

This facility is a large outpatient oncology infusion center that handles over 114 patient visits per day across 41 rooms. The center provides a full spectrum of oncology infusion services including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care for patients with solid tumor cancers and hematologic malignancies. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy, and operates with a strong emphasis on patient safety, chemotherapy verification protocols, and collaborative oncology care.
