Opportunity:

RN - Bone Marrow Transplant

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend shift required
* On-call shifts required
* Previous charge nurse experience preferred
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Daily census of 14 patients
* Bone marrow transplant experience required; not required to have experience administering cells
* Perform cell and gene therapy administration
* Administer blood products and chemotherapy and conditioning treatments
* Provide supportive care administration and triage
* Required certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC); OCN preferred
* Key skills include: accessing and managing ports, central line care and blood draws, IV push administration of chemotherapy, PICC line care, cytotoxic therapy, infusion pump management, neutropenic precautions, management and disposal of cytotoxic spills, stem cell therapies, CAR-T, phlebotomy, and patient and family education
* Michigan nursing license must be in-hand at time of submission (not compact)
* 2 manager or supervisor references required; charge RN references not accepted
* No pre-approved time off during the first week of contract

Facility:

This facility is a major academic medical center offering a comprehensive bone marrow transplant and oncology program. The unit supports interdisciplinary care through collaboration with IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more. The facility treats patients with hematologic malignancies and provides advanced therapies including cell and gene therapy in a highly specialized inpatient oncology environment.
