Opportunity:

RN - Behavioral Health/Psych

Job Details:

* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Minimum 15 months of experience in a Psych/Behavioral Health capacity required
* First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 12 months of Psych/Behavioral Health experience
* Recent or current inpatient experience highly preferred
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Experience working with all age groups including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients required
* Home unit is Geriatric (12 beds); also covers Adolescent (12 beds) and Adult (24 beds) units
* Patient ratios up to 1:4-6 depending on unit and shift
* Patient population includes acute psychiatric patients with Major Mental Health Illness and chronic behaviors including violence, aggression, mania, and self-harm
* Must be competent with restraint equipment
* Scrub color: Navy Blue, solids only
* Required to float across all Des Moines campuses to like units
* De-escalation certification (MOAB, MAB, CPI, or SAMA) highly preferred; can be obtained during onboarding
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), CPI
* Iowa nursing license required; must reflect Active status or compact/multistate at time of submission
* Skills checklist must be specific to Psych/Behavioral Health discipline
* Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
* Valid driver's license required
* All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
