Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12 hour shifts, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
* Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
* No self-scheduling available for travel RNs; blocked scheduling may be accommodated at times
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on both days and nights; must be able to take a 1:6 ratio
* High turnover on day shift - when a patient is discharged, an admit will follow
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* 1 year of Med Surg experience required
* Must have experience with EPIC documentation
* Must be comfortable with bedside shift report and proactive patient rounding
* Experience working the shift being submitted for (days vs. nights) is required
* Must be able to titrate drips including Heparin; set rate drips include Bumex and Lasix
* Cardiac tech available 24/7; RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips
* Respiratory therapy support available 24/7; equipment includes trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
* Nurse aides available on unit at a 1:8-1:10 ratio, able to perform accuchecks and vital signs
* Nursing supervisor available 24/7; charge nurses do not take patients
* May float to IMCU for Med Surg assignments
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
* Unit orientation is 1.5 shifts
* Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
* Low census or standby cancellations may occur
* First-time travelers are welcome
* BSN not required
