Opportunity:

MedSurg/Tele RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
* Holidays and weekends as needed
* Weekend requirement is every other weekend with Saturday and Sunday shifts available for all shifts
* Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:6 with a maximum of 1:7
* Float to PCU required; patient assignments will align with skill set for those without PCU experience
* Scrub color: Navy preferred, black or gray acceptable
* Telemetry is monitored remotely in the ICU; tele boxes display patient rhythm
* MedSurg/Tele nurses are not required to read and interpret strips
* Drips include Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone; titration per protocol is rare and travelers will not be assigned drip patients without prior experience
* Occasional CPAP, BiPap, or High Flow O2 on unit
* Respiratory therapy is in-house 24/7 and manages all vents, EKGs, breathing treatments, and ABGs
* No IV team on site; PICC and Midline certified staff available to assist with difficult IV sticks
* EMR system: CPSI - Evident Thrive
* Clocking in and out using the hospital system is required
* Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Minimum 1 year of MedSurg/Tele experience required; some previous travel experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS
* ACLS preferred

Facility:

This small community healthcare system is licensed for 100 beds with a typical occupancy of around 88 beds and is continuously growing and expanding. The facility operates as a non-trauma, acute care setting and is affiliated with a Florida State Medical program that consistently hosts medical students and local nursing school participants. The facility utilizes Baxter Sigma IV pumps, Neon Kohden cardiac monitors, Omnicell medication dispensing, and CPSI Evident Thrive as its EMR system.
