Job Details:
* Work Monday through Thursday, 8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* 6 OR suites and 2 GI suites in the department
* Average of 12 cases per day
* Common cases include Total Joints, ORIFs, Tendon Repairs, Hernia, Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Robotic Bowel Resection, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Tonsils and Adenoids (peds), Cataracts, and Blepharoplasty
* Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
* Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics (total joints), Robotics required; GI experience preferred
* Prior travel experience required
* Scrubbing preferred but not required; facility is willing to teach eyes
* Weeknight call requirement: 1 night per week from when cases end until 6:30 AM the following day
* Weekend call requirement: Friday 6:30 PM to Monday 6:30 AM, every 3rd to 4th weekend
* Holiday call requirement: Travelers expected to work majority of holidays, 2 of 3 for winter holidays
* Call response time: 30 minutes
* Occasional opportunity to float to ED, MS, or LTC depending on comfort level
* Gray scrubs required, provided by facility
* Orientation includes up to 4 shifts, including cataracts training
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

This acute care facility operates at Trauma Level 4 and features a well-equipped surgical department with 6 operating room suites and 2 GI suites. The department handles a high volume and diverse range of surgical cases, supported by OR technicians, charge nurses focused on department management, and CRNA support. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains a structured on-call system to ensure comprehensive patient care coverage around the clock.
