Opportunity:
RN - Pre/Post (PACU)
Job Details:
* Variable shift schedule with start times staggered between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM dependent on area assigned for the day
* Must be flexible with scheduling to meet department needs
* Nurses scheduled for PACU are expected to stay and finish the day as shift relief is not available
* Monday through Friday schedule only - no weekends, no holidays, no on-call responsibilities
* Daytime patient ratio of 1:2
* 40 orientation hours required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* California state license required; pending license accepted
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
* Proficiency with Epic charting system required
* Scrubs or business casual attire required
* Care for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Provide care in Pre-op, PACU Phase I, and Phase II Recovery areas
* Infusion therapy experience required
* Handle all outpatient surgeries including general, orthopedic, urology, and same-day discharge patients
* Required skills include but are not limited to: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition and management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, pre-op assessment and education, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and medication reconciliation
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

This acute care facility offers a comprehensive outpatient surgery program supporting a wide range of specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, and vascular procedures. The facility operates a Pre-op, PACU Phase I, and Phase II Recovery unit along with infusion therapy services, providing patients with high-quality surgical and post-operative care in a structured outpatient environment.
