Opportunity:

RN - Pre-Op/PACU

Job Details:

* Float required between Pre-Op and PACU units
* Day shift position with a patient ratio of 3:1
* 29-bed unit serving adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Provide Pre-Op care for both inpatient and outpatient populations
* Provide Phase II Recovery care ending with patient discharge home
* Care for patients undergoing general surgery including lap chole, appendectomy, bowel resection, BKA, AKA, vascular procedures, plastics, mandibular surgery, eye procedures, gynecology, dental, thoracic (no open hearts), and podiatry (no ortho)
* At times, provide Pre-Op care for cath lab vascular procedures and endoscopy
* Specialties include ENT, eyes, general surgery, OB-GYN, plastics, post-op, pre-op, robotic, thoracic, transplant, and vascular
* Administer breathing treatments and manage CPAP/BiPap equipment
* Skilled in arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, central line care and management, IV vasopressors, narcotics and opioid analgesics, reversal agents, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, and PCA pump management
* Experience with anesthesia types including general, local, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks, and spinal
* Malignant hyperthermia protocol knowledge required
* Pain assessment and management including RASS (Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale)
* Travelers will not be assigned to pediatric patients (approximately 3-4% of unit census)
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* 2 years of experience required
* Charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
