Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3 years of experience required in Level III or IV NICU
* Patient ratios of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Care for neonates as young as 23-24 weeks gestation
* Block scheduling available if preferred; can work 3 or more shifts in a row
* Intermittent weekend coverage required; managers work directly with travelers to accommodate schedule requests
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* May float to sister campuses including Issaquah and Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (assigned newborns and infants only)
* May be assigned as a sitter for all units; no patient care required during sitter shifts
* Travelers are generally not responsible for admitting babies, as a dedicated nurse fills that role
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required skills and procedures include:
- CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, and Ventilators
- Blood and blood products administration
- Cardioversion and defibrillation
- Cooling and warming blanket (therapeutic hypothermia)
- Feeding tubes (bottle, breast, gavage)
- PICC and central line care
- Syringe pumps
- Neonatal dosage calculations
* Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
* 24-hour orientation required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission

Facility:

This facility features a 77-bed NICU with an average daily census of 50 patients, operating as a Level III and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams. The facility provides comprehensive neonatal care and maintains high standards for both patient care and traveler integration.
