Opportunity:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Details:
* Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including preparation, positioning, and imaging of patients
* Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures and ensure documentation is available for licensed practitioners
* Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions, gaining cooperation, and minimizing anxiety
* Select and operate radiation detection, imaging, and associated equipment
* Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort
* Prepare, calculate, identify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
* Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded
* Verify informed consent and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures
* Perform venipuncture as needed
* Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
* Maintain knowledge of and observe Universal Precautions and aseptic techniques
* Assist in maintaining records while respecting patient confidentiality
* Provide practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals
* Participate in department quality assessment and improvement plan
* May assist with inventory control and supply purchasing for assigned area
* Required certifications: OBMI and ARRT registered nuclear medicine technologist, current BLS certification
* Associate or bachelor's degree from a nuclear medicine accredited program required
* Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with repositioning patients
